Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry

 

Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking to fill faculty positions in the Adult Mood and Anxiety and in the Psychosis program. These are clinician- educator positions (non-tenured) with both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities but each can be tailored to suit the ideal candidates. The positions will include teaching and supervision of residents, medical students and other trainees, in both inpatient and outpatient settings and video supervision of resident psychotherapy patients as well as shared on- call duties.  The successful candidates will join a productive multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and researchers in the Mood and Anxiety program or the Psychosis program with ample opportunities for collaboration.  The candidates must be Doctors of Medicine and have completed an ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) accredited residency in Psychiatry. The candidates must possess or be eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Illinois and an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration license, and must be Board-certified or board eligible in Psychiatry.  Experience and interest in teaching and supervising medical students, and residents is essential.   We are one of the largest Psychiatry departments in the Midwest, with 125 faculty, a strong General Psychiatry Residency Training Program and several fellowships, including Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addictions, Neuropsychiatry and Women’s Mental Health fellowships.  Our Department is nationally known for research in anxiety and affective disorder, psychosis, late life depression, autism, molecular mechanism in addictions, mental health services research, women’s mental health and other areas.  We provide a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient treatments including ECT and rTMS and have several clinics focused on Mood and Anxiety and Psychosis with individual CBT, group therapy and an active IOP.  Please visit our department website at www.psych.uic.edu.   Applicants must apply online at http://jobs.uic.edu and reference Job ID 94395 and submit a CV, cover letter and three names of references by May 30, 2018.  The application review process will start immediately and will continue until the positions are   filled.
