CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER

Large, financially stable behavioral health provider located in beautiful Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking applicants for Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead us into the future. Anchorage provides quick access in the winter to skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and dog sledding with easy access to hiking trails, biking, river rafting, fishing, and hunting in the other seasons. Anchorage has a population of approximately 300,000 and offers a cultural setting and great schools. Residents benefit financially due to no sales tax in the Municipality of Anchorage as well as no Alaskan income tax.
The position supervises medical teams in both Anchorage and Fairbanks, which includes Psychiatrists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and oversight of psychiatric nursing services. The CMO also provides direct psychiatric services, participates in the Organization’s quality improvement process, and serves as a liaison with other community psychiatric service providers. Requirements include: a medical degree from an accredited medical school, certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), a current and unrestricted Alaska Medical License, and a Federal DEA number. Preferred experience includes at least five years practicing psychiatry in a community setting and two years of relevant management or supervisory experience. Computer skills required. A satisfactory driving record and proof of vehicle insurance is required upon offer of employment.
